Dr. Paul Ehrmann earned his bachelor of science in Pharmacy at Wayne State College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions in 1976 in Detroit and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing in 1980 and completed his Residency in Family Practice at Henry Ford Bi-County Hospital in Warren in 1983.

He holds memberships in local, state and national medical associations. In addition, he was appointed as Chief Medical Consultant to the Public Health Subcommittee of the Michigan House of Representatives in 1994 and holds an appointment as an Associate Clinical Professor of Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine.

For the past three decades, he has been medical director for the Family Health Care Center in Royal Oak, Michigan. <br>During time, he has been a tireless community based activist advocating for preventative health programs for families and local businesses in his practice community. He has worked tirelessly in this arena appearing in countless local, national and international radio, television, newspapers and speaking engagements.

In 2002 Dr. Ehrmann became actively engaged in the fight against childhood obesity creating and implementing the CHILDREN’S HEALTH INITIATIVE PROGRAM OR CHIP which is an elementary school community based grass roots healthy living programs geared towards families with the vision of impacting this epidemic which threatens the quality and longevity of our children, our families and our society. 

Among the most notable recognition awards he has received during this journey include the Michigan Steps up Award from the State Surgeon General State of Michigan, Commendation by the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, Presidential Citation from the Michigan Osteopathic Association , Spirit Citizen of the year Award-City of Royal Oak, Crain’s Business Detroit Physician Recognition Award of the year for 2008, Winner Innovation in Medicine Award in Lansing 2009 Cardiovascular category and finalist in  2011.  In addition, he serves on the State of Michigan and Oakland County Childhood Obesity task force.  Finally, in 2008 authored his first book entitled : GENERATION XL: THE CHILDHOOD OBESITY PANDEMIC: A COMMUNITY BASED SOLUTION.

The book outlines his health and wellness experience in Southeastern Michigan schools.  Outside his professional life, he is an avid golfer and baseball player.
