Royal Oak Woman Gets Flash Mob Proposal

Maureen Flynn of Royal Oak got a "wow" of a proposal.

An Ortonville man surprised his girlfriend, Maureen Flynn, of Royal Oak, with a "flash mob" proposal in Meininger Park on Saturday, Aug. 31.

Mike Garza wowed his girlfriend of seven years with more than 100 dancers performing to Natalie Cole's “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)”

Friends and family arrived in the park two hours early to rehearse. Flynn's sister, Diane Hahn, and niece, Kaitlyn Hahn, both of Royal Oak, helped Garza with the choreography.

"It was quite a bit of work. They made a video and sent it to everyone," Garza said. "The first time they ran through the dance I thought, uh, it wasn't going to be very good. But after a few times they all looked like professional dancers."

By the way, Flynn said, "yes."
