Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair

One of the first
successful art fairs in the South East Michigan art scene, 2013 marks our 43rd
anniversary.  The proud passion of the
artists and artisans displayed among the soft rolling hills of Memorial Park
brings raves from art buyers, appreciative fans as well as professional and
amateur art lovers. The beautiful tree setting allows both the local artists
and artists from around the country and the guests to casually stroll through
the 90 fine art and fine craft displays while staying protected from the sun’s
rays. The Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair will be Saturday, July 13, 2013, 10 a.m.
to 6 p.m., and Sunday, July 14, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Traditionally,
the mix of artists and artisans at the Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair includes fine
art in watercolor, oils, acrylics and pastels.
Also present are fine drawings in pen, pencil and stipple ink.  The glass, wood and clay offerings are
usually breathtaking and created as both indoor and outdoor art.  The fine art metal sculptures create an
exciting display.  The photography is
always a popular draw, with scenes from around the globe, here and there shots
so tastefully portrayed.  And what art
fair would not have the intricate and highly creative fine jewelry?  We are very proud of the quality that our
artists and artisans bring to our community.

This year’s
musical entertainment includes Just Friends Barbershop Quartet,
four fun-loving women who got together because they shared a love for
singing.  They are four-part harmony at
its best and bring life and energy to every event.  They will stroll through the Art Fair on Saturday 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and Sunday
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
And then
there is the ever popular Motor City Sidestrokers, a 5-piece
band that embraces the Depression-era scores, but performs their own original
material on Saturday 3-5 p.m., and
the Rickety
Nelsons
will play on Sunday, 2-4
p.m.
The Ricketies have restored some of your favorite rock, R&B, doo
wop and vintage country tunes to their original youth and beauty.
