Thieves Target Cars, Man Ticketed for Stealing Trashcan and More

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Thieves target garages

 

200 block of Maxwell, Oct. 12: A man reported someone broke into his detached garage and stole a black Electra bicycle.

500 block of Lloyd, Oct. 15: A man reported someone stole his Honda generator from his unlocked detached garage.

Man ticketed for stealing trashcan


Farnum and Alexander (Whittier Park), Oct. 16: A woman reported she observed someone attempting to steal a metal trashcan from the park. Officers observed a man with the trashcan and he was ticketed for larceny and being in the park after hours.

11 Mile and N Rembrandt, Oct. 9: A man reported his Bobcat front-end loader was stolen. 

825 E 11 Mile (Royal Motor Inn), Oct. 12: A woman reported she left her purse outside her motel room and someone stole it.

25352 Woodward (L.A. Fitness), Oct. 12: A man reported his gym locker was broken into. His wallet, driver’s license, credit cards, and keys were stolen. Officers reviewed the business’s security video and identified a male suspect wearing a bright blue polo shirt, black pants and white shoes.

 

Knife, iPod, laptop and more taken from unlocked cars


300 block of Oakland, Oct. 13: A man reported someone stole his Ultimate Edge Chef’s knife set from his unlocked vehicle. 

300 block of Oakland, Oct. 13: A man reported someone stole his Garmin GPS, iPod, designer sunglasses, clothing and two sets of keys from his unlocked vehicle.

200 block of N Lafayette, Oct. 13: A woman reported someone stole a laptop computer from her unlocked vehicle.

600 block of Woodlawn, Oct. 14: A man reported someone stole his tools from his unlocked vehicle.

 

Man ticketed for breaking antenna 

 

Sixth and Washington (Parking Lot), Oct. 13: A man reported a subject broke the antenna off his parked vehicle. The man was able to identify the subject and he was ticketed for malicious destruction of property. 

Thieves target purses


13 Mile and Evergreen (Starr Jaycee Park), Oct. 10: A woman reported someone broke her passenger window on her vehicle and stole her Coach purse containing her identification and bankcards.

13 Mile and Evergreen (Starr Jaycee Park), Oct. 12: A woman reported someone broke her passenger window and stole her purse.

2036 Rochester (Red Run Golf Club), Oct. 12:A woman reported someone broke her passenger window and stole her purse.
