Rambo Sworn in as Royal Oak Postmaster

Pamela Rambo has been appointed the 42nd Postmaster of Royal Oak.

Pamela Rambo has been appointed the 42nd Postmaster of Royal Oak. The new postmaster took her official oath of office during an installation ceremony Tuesday.

Events began outside the Royal Oak Post Office at noon with a flag raising ceremony before moving indoors. Approximately 75 people were in attendance, including members of Rambo's family, post office officials, Royal Oak Mayor Jim Ellison, Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence and Howard Collens, president of the Greater Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce.

Rambo began her career in 1981 as a letter carrier. Her record of successful performance led her to assignments of increasing responsibility. She is only second woman to be sworn in as postmaster in Royal Oak since 1826 when the first post office opened. Rambo replaces Postmaster Jeff Helmuth who is relocating to the St. Clair Shores post office.
