Jaycees seeking competitors and sponsors for chili cook-off
Do you think you have the best chili around? Here's your chance to prove it.
The Royal Oak Jaycees are seeking local restaurants, individuals and organizations to help them bring a little heat to south Oakland County this September. The Jaycees will host the South Oakland Chili Cook-Off at the Royal Oak Farmers Market from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. Formerly called the “Royal Oak Chili Cook-Off,” this fourth annual event promises to be bigger and better than ever by expanding its scope to include participants from all over south Oakland County.
Restaurants, businesses, community organizations and individuals are welcome to enter their chili into the competition to earn of one of several titles, including Best of the Best, Hottest and Most Creative.
Businesses and groups wanting to contribute in other ways can become an event sponsor, with several sponsorship levels available. Donated Items for the event’s silent auction — gift certificates of $25 and up, non-perishable products and gift baskets — are also welcome.
Proceeds from the South Oakland Chili Cook-Off will benefit local community organizations, including the Boys & Girls Club of South Oakland County.
