PHOTOS: Work Crews Arrive at Royal Oak Sore Spots

Crews work to correct problems at Main Street lofts and a busy intersection.

Crews grabbed their hard hats Monday morning and headed to Royal Oak.

Two sore spots with Royal Oak Patch readers had crews on the scene Monday morning working to correct problems.

The Royal Oak City Engineering Department confirmed permits were issued to close the sidewalks on the northwest corner of 11 Mile Road and Main Street so that crews can begin making corrections to sagging balconies and other issues at 111 N. Main St.

Crews are also at the intersection of 12 Mile and Rochester roads installing traffic signal heads.

On Sept. 26, a truck bumped a pole at the northeast corner of the intersection in front of the CVS pharmacy that brought the traffic lights crashing to the ground.

The installation, which includes all the wiring to be redone, is expected to take a couple of day to complete, according to City Engineer Matt Callahan.
