Numerous Home Break-Ins, Thefts Reported by Royal Oak Residents

3 houses in one block are hit while more homes and businesses throughout Royal Oak are targeted.

Royal Oak Police report three home invasions on one block and a fourth a block away over five days, in addition to numerous other break-in and theft incidents this past week.

In the 4300 block of W. 13 Mile:

  • On May 13, the complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered her home through an unlocked patio door.  The suspect stole a flat screen television, laptop computer, Apple iPod, Nintendo Wii game system and a pair of earrings.
  • On May 15, a complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered her apartment through her patio door and stole a Macbook computer, guitar, jewelry, DVDs, money and a backpack.
  • On May 17, a resident reported that an unknown suspect broke out her living room window and entered her apartment. The suspect stole jewelry, alcohol and other items from her residence.

 In the 3300 block of Cummings:

  • On May 13, a complainant reported that an unknown suspect removed the screen from her window and entered her home.  The complainant and her family were sleeping upstairs and did not hear anything suspicious. The suspect stole a flat screen TV, iPod, laptop computer, Xbox and her checkbook.

 In other break-ins and thefts:

  • 200 block of South Center, May 12: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his home through an unlocked door and stole his laptop. 
  • 2000 block of East Fourth, May 13: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect threw a large brick through the rear glass door to the business and attempted to gain entry.
  • 2900 block of Glenview, May 15:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered a storage area in his backyard and stole his red Yard Man lawn mower, a red Murray snow blower and four Zigen rims and tires.
  • 4100 block of Springer, May 18:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his open garage and stole his Aarons weed whacker, Red Max backpack leaf blower and a 5-gallon can of gas. 
  • 4100 block of Elmhurst, May 17:  The complainant reported the theft of a birdhouse and an outdoor table from their front porch. 
  • 118 block of N. Alexander, May 14:  The complainant reported she hired a plumbing contractor to do some work in her home.  The complainant left the suspect alone in her house for a few minutes and noticed after the suspect left that one of the keys to her vehicle was gone.
