Spooktacular, Fall Color Walk and More This Weekend

Here's five things to do around Royal Oak this weekend.

Looking for something to do this weekend in Royal Oak? Here are some ideas. Click on the links for more information about each event.

1. Laugh 
with Ian Bagg at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle this weekend. Show time is 8 p.m. and 10:30  Friday; 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10-$18.

2. Test your knowledge at the Battle of the Brains. Over 100 teams will converge on the Royal Oak Music Theatre to participate in the second annual style trivia event  Saturday at 7 p.m. Last year’s event had teams from five different states and two countries participate. Battle of the Brains is presented by the internet’s largest trivia website, Sporcle. This event will be the single largest team style trivia event in the Midwest. $5,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, including a top prize of $4,000. Tickets $12 - $25.

3. Listen to the Royal Oak Band Concert. The concert is entitled "A Musical Voyage Around the World" and will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Royal Oak High School ). Featured will be clarinet soloist George Stoffan, assistant professor of clarinet at Oakland University. Tickets are $10 for adults;  $8 for seniors/students; children 12 and under are free.

4. Trick or Treat at the SpooktacularDowntown Royal Oak presents this Halloween event that is fun for the whole family. Parents are invited to bring their children in their costumes for trick-or-treating at downtown businesses from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

5. Walk through Tenhave Woods on Sunday. The Fall Color Walk begins at 2 p.m.  Park at the Lexington & Marais lot & meet at the Lexington entrance.  This is the most beautiful time to take a look at our nature study areas.
